Operation Safe School in Assisi: another project by Tondino

School means children, homework, notebooks and games. Parents, teachers and headmasters also have another thought: a safe and controlled place.

It is precisely from this need that the latest adventure of Rodwhich 'travelled' from northern Italy to the sunny, rolling hills of Umbria. A journey that originated from the headmistress of the Convitto Nazionale Principe di Napoli in Assisi, who wondered how to make the students safe inside her school, especially in the primary classrooms.

In fact, children's schoolbags were often left lying on the ground in bulk in the vicinity of passing areas, endangering the safety of the smallest and most inattentive children. How to solve this problem?

So the headmistress began looking for a solution that would combine school building regulations, safety and beauty. Yes, beauty, because in schools it is nice to see some colour e cheerfulnesshe told us. And that is how he found our Tondino and contacted us to create a safe school.

Once a sample had been evaluated, the Headmistress had no doubts and activated a project that led to the installation of 300 rods in all classrooms of the boarding school's primary school.

But it would not be a true adventure to be told without challenges to overcome... in fact, once the first surveys had been carried out to organise the installation, a problem emerged that is often encountered by those who work in school buildings: structures built many years ago, when several layers of plaster (to counteract friability) and a lot of mortar were used. The consequences? It was necessary to plant dowels very deep, up to 8 centimetres. A condition that did not guarantee the maximum strength and load-bearing capacity that was sought.

Our technicians, after an inspection, found a solution that was in line with structural requirements, without losing safety and aesthetic impact. We designed groups of three rods installed on high quality wooden boards, prepared by a trusted carpenter and painted with non-toxic natural paints.

We are happy to be able to tell you about this wonderful collaboration of which we are proud and for which we thank once again the Convitto Nazionale Principe di Napoli, which wanted us at its side in the realisation of this project. We are convinced that this is an experience that should be shared by everyone: parents and teachers so that all children can grow up in safe, modern and fun.

And the children? From the next school year we will know better what they think, in the meantime we publish on the our Facebook page a photo taken by a primary school girl... she seems to like the Tondino!
