Back to school: interview with Polideas creatives

We know everything about Tondino: it is cheerful, colourful, useful and above all safe. But how did the idea for the most popular children's hanger come about? Polideas reveals it to us!

The Tondino hanger is an innovative idea, designed especially for children: colourful, simple and practical, it looks cheerful and friendly and can be placed anywhere. Telling us about it today, in an exclusive interview, are the creatives of the Polideas company.

- How did the idea of Tondino come about?

Tondino was born thanks to a father from Pordenone: the idea came to him while he was volunteering at the nursery school attended by his daughter, where he had set to work painting and so on, aware of the not brilliant economic conditions in which nursery schools find themselves in recent times. During the course of this work, he had noticed that there were iron hooks on the walls as hangers, which, in addition to looking unworthy of such a place, could also be dangerous for the children because they were totally unsafe. And yes, you know, sometimes it only takes a moment to get hurt. So, wandering around on the internet and in shops, this dad was unable to find a product that he considered satisfactory for what he had in mind and decided to create it himself.

- What were you inspired by for its design?

To realise Tondino we were inspired above all by the concept of safety for children, deciding to create a rounded and completely edgeless product that would not be dangerous and at the same time be fun and enjoyable for the child, without forgetting the importance of design and the ability to adapt to the style of the surrounding environment.

- What makes Tondino different from all other hangers?

What makes it different is certainly its edgeless shape, its fun and original design that children love and that, with its different colours and prints, can be adapted to any type of environment. It is not just a simple hanger, but a real furnishing accessory!

- What material is Tondino made of?

Rod is made of plastic, a fireproof material.

- Do you have any certification that recognises it as safe?

Yes, it has no less than two certifications, from Catas and Fischer, which attest to its validity and safety.

- How can it be used within a school?

It can be used in so many ways and so many uses that you can really let your imagination run wild! For example, Tondino was used in a kindergarten, placed outside each classroom so that the children could hang their jackets or bags. The rooms were divided by colour - the yellow class, the red class, the green class - and so the extra idea was to provide Tondino in the colour of the corresponding class: the yellow rod for the yellow class, the red rod for the red class, the green rod for the class of the same shade, and so on. And that's not all: Tondino was also installed in the canteen of this school, giving each child the opportunity to hang their own bib in a nice and tidy manner. An idea that the children and parents, but also the teachers, really liked!

- What have the mothers or teachers who have used it so far told you?

They are very happy with this product because it brings a touch of colour and cheer to any room, while at the same time combining the practicality of a really useful and safe complement for children. I was really impressed by the fact that they were enthusiastic about this product. We are very satisfied with it.

- Are you planning any new colours or patterns for the future?

At the moment we do not have any new colouring or new fantasies planned, but we do not exclude other novelties in the wonderful world of Tondino in the future.
